TOMS NEW YORK

264 Elizabeth St, New York, NY 10012

Set in the bustling and trendy neighborhood of Nolita in the East Village, TOMS' 5th store was a labor of love. With two stories in a historic building to work with and an outdoor patio - the creative options were endless.

We started out by turning the former restaurant bar in the front of the store into a cafe, and transforming the back room into a dedicated retail space. The back patio is the piece de resistance, which is accessed through an up-cycled glass door with steel framing and handles. The patio features a weatherized awning, a fireplace, heaters and cozy banquette seating for year round lounging. The downstairs kitchen became a back stock room, employee break room and manager's office.

The entire store has hand painted touches and details everywhere, meant to warm up the space and navigate customers through the narrow winding space. We made sure to honor every detail of the original building, including doors, windows and walls.
